Welcome to the website of Faculty 5

To start with, we would like to give you an overview of the faculty's profile and organisation. The faculty is organised in two departments - the Computer Science department and the Electrical Engineering and Information Technology department. Electrical Engineering and Information Technology can look back on a long tradition at the University of Stuttgart. Both departments combined can now cover the whole spectrum of data processing and networking. The faculty's research profile additionally focuses on sustainable power supply and computational linguistics. Furthermore, in research and teaching the faculty cooperates with other institutions inside and outside the University of Stuttgart and is substantially involved in the SimTech Cluster of Excellency.

Based on the high amount of third-party funds acquired, Faculty 5 enjoys a reputation as a research faculty. Furthermore, we are proud of many long-standing industry contacts. Our students profit from this research: we educate engineers and computer scientists that are hired by world market leaders, become successful scientists or found their own companies. The immense success of our international Master's programme INFOTECH is only one indicator of the attractiveness of our study programmes.

We appreciate your interest in our faculty and invite you to further inform yourself about our programmes and research activities. You will find information on recent acitivities of the faculty on the right side and information on the departments on the respective departments' website. Information about the dean and detailed contact information can be found on the subsite of the dean's office.
